Doctrinal Statement

All lessons and materials on this site agree with the following basic statements. This is not a complete list, but it should give you a good idea of where we stand. If you see any resources on this site that seem to break any of these statements, please contact us.

The Bible

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Scriptures. The Bible is to be our authority on which we base our beliefs and actions. We believe that God has wholly preserved His Word, and it can be totally trusted. The King James Bible is used in all materials on this site, due to its basis on superior texts. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21)

We believe in one true and living God eternally existing in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in Christ's virgin birth, sinless life, literal death, and bodily resurrection and ascension into Heaven. We believe the Holy Spirit is one with God and present at Creation. His purpose is to convict, teach, and indwell all believers. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; John 14:7-12; I John 2:23-24)

We believe salvation is by grace, through faith alone. Christ purchased salvation through His death on the cross for any and all who believe and accept Him. Once someone has accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, he cannot lose his salvation. We believe in soul liberty and each person is accountable to God. (Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9; I Corinthians 15:1-4; II Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe that all humans are born into sin, having a sin nature. We are sinners both by nature and by choice. Because of this sin, we deserve an eternity in Hell. Only Jesus, through His death and resurrection can save us from the punishment of sin and give us a home in Heaven. (Genesis 3; Psalm 58:3; Romans 1:20; 5:12-21; I Corinthians 2:14; Revelation 20:14-15)

We believe in a literal Heaven, where believers will spend eternity with God. We believe in a literal place called hell, where those that reject Christ will spend an eternity in separation from God.

The Church

We believe that a New Testament church is a local body of saved and baptized believers, assembled for worship, service, fellowship, and the spread of the Gospel into all the world. Christ is the head of the church. Therefore, this institution is to follow Christ alone, and is independent of conventions or any other body. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41-47; I Timothy 2:12, 3:2, 12)

We believe that baptism by full immersion is a picture of Christ's death, burial, and Resurrection. Baptism is an outward display of what God has done in the heart. Baptism in no way takes away or cleanses from sin. Baptism shows others of your decision to trust in Christ as Savior and is the first step of obedience after salvation. We believe baptism and the Lord's supper are the two ordinances of the church.

The Rapture

We believe in the literal, pre-tribulational, pre-millenial, imminent return of Jesus Christ for His saints. (I Corintians 15:51-53; I Thessalonians 4:14-17)
