How Can I Be Saved?
Using the letters in the word C.A.M.P., I have developed an acrostic to show why and how the Bible says we must get saved from our sin. If you are not 100% certain that if you were to die today that you would go to Heaven, please read this.
Camp is the perfect place to go to get a break from everyday life and just have fun! There is a place so much better where God wants every person to go! The greatest thing about it is that you don't need any money to get there! Heaven is a beautiful place. The Bible tells of streets of gold, a river, mansions, people, food, but even greater than all of that--the King of Kings, God Himself, will be there!
"C" is for "choose"
Choose to believe that the Bible is God's Word and that it shows how you can be saved. The Bible says, "I (Jesus) am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father (God), but by me."
"A" is for "admit"
Admit that you are a sinner and that you believe Jesus is the only way to heaven, because He paid your penalty when He died on the cross and came back to life again. The Bible says that all have sinned (Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8). Sin is anything you do, say, or think that breaks God's law. Because God is perfect, He cannot allow sin into Heaven. Sin separates us from God. God did not want anyone to die and go to a place called hell. He offers you a free gift! He wants to save (rescue) you from your sin and give you an abundant life. He wants to become your best friend! Only Jesus, God's Son, could be the perfect sacrifice, to die in your place. He died so that you could have eternal life.
"M" is for "make a choice"
Make a choice to trust (believe without a doubt) in Him alone to forgive your sins. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Read Romans 10:13 and Ephesians 2:8-9) God does not force anyone to be saved. He gives you a free choice to accept or reject His gift.
"P" is for "pray"
Pray and ask God to save you. A prayer cannot save you, but believing does. Talking to God is just a way to say to God what you already have chosen to believe in your heart. (Romans 10:9-13)
Remember, there are no magic words to pray in order to get saved, but if you never have accepted Jesus' free gift of salvation, you can choose to today. Here is a sample of what you could pray if you truly believe and want to be saved right now. The Bible says, Today is the day of salvation.
If you have made this decision as a result of reading this, please let me know so I can pray for you! The Bible tells us in Romans 8 that nothing can separate us from the love of God. In John 10, Scripture shows us that nothing or nobody can pluck the believer out of God's hand. Once you get saved, you are forever secure in Him. You become God's child. After you are saved, God wants you to read the Bible, pray, attend church, be baptized, and grow closer to Him. Nothing good you do can save you or keep you saved, but these things help others see that you want to live for God and shows your thankfulness to God for the salvation He has given.
